Many clients you accompany over the years – through many conversations, browsing sessions together, and the occasional find that makes its way home. This client is one of them. She loves objects with history and patina. Her husband prefers clean lines, simplicity, and modern design. Their shared balcony was meant to reflect both – and above all, not look thrown together.
After an in-depth conversation about wishes, how the space would be used, and personal taste, three moodboards were developed: Cool After Eight, Creamy Pistachio, and Strong Espresso. Each a different direction, but all with the same goal: a balcony that works as a little escape. No standard rattan furniture with thick seat cushions. Instead of matching planters, a harmonious mix of different shapes and surfaces.
The choice fell on Creamy Pistachio. Rikiki handled the research, pricing, and ordering of all items. The blue bench was the one fixed element – everything else was added fresh. At the back, an old blue vintage cabinet from France serves as lockable storage for tools and supplies. At the front, a simple shelf for smaller plants, plus flexible additional seating and a cream vintage bench from Sweden. All items were delivered to the store and assembled by the clients themselves. A washable outdoor rug completed the look.
A balcony that works for both of them. The client's plants finally have planters that go together – without all being the same.
